It reflects our fascination with the dynamics of light, tipping points, and symmetry, and at the same time forms the basis for the design of spaces that are in harmony with the natural environment and their context.

nooon is an independent lighting design studio based in Zurich, specializing in architectural lighting and daylight design. Its core focus lies in projects with the highest demands on lighting quality, including representative commercial buildings, museums, sacral architecture, and heritage-listed structures.

nooon stands for a clear and uncompromising aesthetic. Lighting is conceived as an integral part of the architecture, bringing together functionality, efficiency, and dramaturgy to create a cohesive and atmospheric whole.

Process

Bedarfsanalyse

Jedes Projekt beginnt mit einer genauen Abklärung der Bedürfnisse und Erwartungen. In dieser Phase werden die Anforderungen an Raumgestaltung, Funktionalität und Beleuchtung definiert. Eine detaillierte Bedarfsanalyse hilft, den Projektumfang realistisch einzuschätzen und erste Rahmenbedingungen für Budget und Zeitplan festzulegen.

Konzept - Phase 31

Die Vision nimmt Form an: Durch Konzeptpläne, Skizzen und Materialmuster entsteht ein stimmiges Gestaltungskonzept. Die räumliche Atmosphäre wird definiert, von der Anordnung und Auswahl der Elemente bis hin zur harmonischen Abstimmung von Materialien, Farben und Licht. Ideen werden durch 3D-Visualisierungen greifbar gemacht, während eine erste Kostenschätzung die finanzielle Machbarkeit aufzeigt.

Projekt - Phase 32

Das Konzept wird weiterentwickelt und bis ins Detail ausgearbeitet. Materialien, Oberflächen und Beleuchtung werden spezifiziert, um eine präzise Umsetzung sicherzustellen. Projektpläne, Lichtberechnungen und Bemusterungen helfen, alle Elemente aufeinander abzustimmen und die gewünschte Qualität zu gewährleisten. Gleichzeitig wird ein detaillierter Kostenvoranschlag erstellt, um Transparenz und Planungssicherheit zu bieten.

Meta Romanens

"Lighting is not just a source of illumination, but a key element that shapes the atmosphere of a space. In architecture, light is both a sculptor and a storyteller, revealing the true essence of a room and connecting us to the natural world."

Meta is an interior architect with a master’s degree in Architectural Lighting Design from Hochschule Wismar (Germany). Before founding nooon in 2023, she worked as a lighting designer and interior architect, gaining extensive experience across a wide range of project types, scales, and budgets. In 2021, she also served as a lecturer in the CAS Lighting Design program at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
