The new bridge engages in a respectful dialogue with the Munot – the landmark of Schaffhausen. Its delicate design is complemented by a finely tuned lighting concept that subtly emphasizes the lightness of the structure.
Miniaturized recessed lights in the railing illuminate the walkway asymmetrically. A gentle grazing light accentuates the metal mesh of the railing, making the fine materiality perceptible. The lighting follows the rhythm of the sculptural posts – restrained, never intrusive.
But it’s not just aesthetics that are in focus: The lighting design respects the sensitive surroundings. Light pollution is minimized to protect the bats and deer living in the Munot moat. Thus, the bridge becomes not only a connection but also a quiet part of a living ecosystem.
