The temporary pavilion Manal on the campus of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts showcases applications of cement-free, clay-based materials developed by Oxara. The lighting is designed as a reuse project from the university’s lighting collection and emphasizes the industrial character of the pavilion with neutral white, direct light – clear, impactful, and functional.
Inside, the clay-rich surfaces create a soft, warm glow produced by the reflection of light. This subtle, natural radiance extends outward, giving the pavilion a quiet presence in the nighttime space. In this way, the light becomes more than just functional illumination—it becomes a medium that conveys the quality of the material, making the warmth of the clay both visible and tangible.
